I have served as chairman of the Civil Practice Committee for the Kane County Bar Association. I participated in seminars both as moderator and speaker for the Kane County Bar Assocation.

As a long-time member of First Congregational Church of Elgin, I have served as the leader of the congregation, as well as a member of various other church committees.

I served as board member of Oakcrest Residence Home in Elgin. Oakcrest Residence is an assisted living facility for senior citizens. As a director, I particpated in the planning of the construction of a major addition to the Oakcrest Residence Home.

I have also served as board member of the Bethesda Community Developement Center which provided a daycare center for children in Elgin.

In addition, I have volunteered for the Community Crisis Center of Elgin, which is a not-for-profit organization that provides care for battered women and children.

I am a long-time member of Elgin Country Club.
